Construction Projects
Accessible Design & Consulting (partnering with licensed contractors that have completed our training program) modifies homes for improved accessibility and safety. We are a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
The NAHB RemodelorsTM Council, in collaboration with the AARP, NAHB Research Center, and NAHB Seniors Housing Council, developed the Certified Aging in Place Specialist program to provide comprehensive, information about working with older and maturing adults to remodel their homes for aging-in-place.
Below are examples of some of the accessible construction projects we've completed.
Elevator Installation
The client for this project was an 84-year old woman who had trouble going up the stairs to her second story bedroom and bathroom.
With a variety of available options, everyone agreed an elevator was the best solution.

Accessible Bathroom Remodel
The client for this project was a 73 year old male stroke victim and above-the-knee amputee which confined him to a wheelchair but his bathroom was not wheelchair accessible.
This complete bathroom makeover provided a roll-in shower, roll-under sink, fold-down grab bar and widened doorway.

Accessible Motorhome / Mobile Home Remodel
The challenge for this project was to work in the tight spaces of a Motorhome to make it wheelchair accessible at the entrance steps and make the bedroom stairs safer and easier to use.
We also added a couch cane in the living room between the matching recliners.

Outdoor Stairlift
The client for this project was a senior citizen with balance problems and was having a difficult time going up and down the stairs to his home.
We created a safe and easy way to go up and down a 12-step outside flight of stairs by installing an Outdoor Stairlift.
